During his recent speech regarding the growing threat by Islamic State terrorists based in Iraq and Syria, unfortunately placed decorations directly behind Barack Obama resembled horns protruding from his head in the eyes of many viewers.

The Drudge Report noted the eerie appearance at the top of its homepage Thursday, sparking widespread conversation across the social media landscape.

Many Twitter users felt the image was an accurate portrayal of Obama’s true nature.

In a speech last year blaming Republicans for imposing spending cuts, Obama accused some in the party of trying to “paint horns on my head.”

As it turns out, his own team staged an appearance that literally achieved a very similar result. Of course, Wednesday’s speech was not the first instance in which critics have pointed out Obama’s supposed Mephistophelean physical attributes.

When actor Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni was picked to portray Satan in the popular History Channel miniseries ‘The Bible,’ many viewers suggested he could be a presidential doppelganger.

The subsequent controversy led producers to cut any appearances by the devilish actor from the follow-up film ‘Son of God.’
