When South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson said, “You lie” as Obama touted his signature legislation Obamacare during a State of the Union address, he was chastised for daring to call Barack Obama a liar.
While he was publicly shamed by Pelosi in an official House censure for breaking decorum, something that John Boehner has failed to do in response to Pelosi’s recent bizarre House behavior, to the Left, it was more than just about a break in decorum. It was that Wilson would accuse Obama of lying.
Nearly five years later, and 10 months since the Obamacare disastrous rollout, someone else is accusing Obama of lying about Obamacare and it just may cause speculation of trouble in the ranks among Democrats.
During a July interview with Huffington Post, former Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank called Obama out for lying to the American people with what was dubbed by Politifact as the lie of the year. Beyond that, Frank was also highly critical of the fiasco filled Obamacare rollout.
“The rollout was so bad, and I was appalled — I don’t understand how the president could have sat there and not been checking on that on a weekly basis,” Frank told HuffPost during a July interview. “But frankly, he should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That wasn’t true. And you shouldn’t lie to people. And they just lied to people.”
Like Joe Wilson, Obama’s fellow Progressive Democrat Barney Frank has called him a liar when it comes to promises he made regarding Obamacare. Frank then turned critical of Obama’s advisers and the decisions made in the roll-out.
“Any smart political adviser would have said, ‘Don’t lie to people, because you’re gonna get caught up in it and it’s gonna have this tsunami that you now have,’” Frank told HuffPost. “My political motto, very simple. I have always told the truth, and nothing but the truth. But I don’t volunteer the whole truth in every situation.”
Not only did Obama choose to lie to the people, but he did so over and over again constantly doubling down on his lies.
A recent poll by the Kaiser Foundation finds that support for Obamacare is at its lowest. Only 37% of those surveyed actually support Obama’s failed signature legislation. In addition, 53% flat out oppose Obamacare. That represents an 8% increase of those in opposition since June.
